It is no secret that professional women are a distinct minority in the male- dominated world of senior management in business, higher education and politics. To empower women, ECEC focuses its efforts on achieving progress in three key areas:
1. SHOWCASE WOMEN
To provide a platform in Eastern Carolina for national, state and local speakers who illustrate diversity of skills, successes and accomplishments achieved by women. These events may be open to the public to showcase the heights and breadth women can achieve.
2. EXPAND OUR PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE
To share with each other the unique challenges and solutions that we often face as professional women, business owners, wives and mothers. We will do this through round table discussions, small meetings and personal contacts.
3. EXERCISE OUR LEADERSHIP IN THE COMMUNITY
To share our expertise–both individually and collectively–with middle school, high school and college students. As role models and mentors, we will encourage courses (including STEM) which translate into marketable skills.
